What to expect during your first visit

1. Health History

Upon your arrival at the clinic (or before hand in an email) there will be an opportunity for you to share your health history .  This helps Robyn understand any past or present ailments you may have.  This should take between 5-10 minutes to complete.

2. Assessment

In the treatment room, Robyn will conduct an assessment and interview regarding your presenting symptoms and ask you about your treatment goals.  This will help her understand root of what may be causing your symptoms in order to fully understand where to take the treatment. This may include orthopedic assessments, postural assessments, and range of motion tests.

3. Treatment

Given the information provided, your massage therapists will choose the most appropriate treatment to fit your needs. RMT’s are trained in a variety of techniques and the treatment will likely combine many within the same treatment. The treatment techniques might include trigger point therapy, muscle energy, fascial work, joint mobilizations, swedish massage, hydrotherapy, stretching, etc.

4. Home Care

Robyn will always make recommendations to encourage you to take autonomy over your health. The suggestions may include  a stretching, strengthening, and hydrotherapy regime which will be given at the end of the treatment.

5. Payment

Payment of the full amount is taken at the end of the massage. We can accept debit, visa, mastercard, but prefer cash or cheque.

6. Rebooking

Rescheduling after the first appointment is recommended.  Depending on the severity of the symptoms presenting, a treatment plan may be proposed for you.
